Bukit Baka-Bukit Raya National Park is a conserving area which is located in the heart of Kalimantan. This park is very beneficial in hidrologic; that is as a catchment area of the Melawi river in West Kalimantan and Katingan river in central Kalimantan. Bukit Baka-Bukit Raya National Park is formed of two park: Bukit Baka in West Kalimantan and Bukit Raya in Central Kalimantan.
Bukit Baka-Bukit Raya National Park is dominate by tropical rainforest. The vegetation in this park is various, from the vegetation of mountainous hill onto the river vegetation. Beside that, we can also find various kinds of animals. There are many types of birds, mamals, and primate. There are also many types of reptil such as snake, wizard and turtle.
Bukit Baka-Bukit Raya National Park is halfly located in Sintang, West Kalimantan, while another half is belongs to the Kutawaringin, Central Kalimantan. From West Kalimantan, we can get into this object by public transportation. We have to go along Pontianak-Sintang-Nanga Pinoh for about 460 kilometers or about 9 hours. Then we continue to Nanga Nuak by speed boat for about 2 and half hours. Then, from Nanga Nuak to the object, we can go by car for 2 hours.
