Pulau Sawi

Here it is, another interesting tourism object: Sawi Island. Sawi Island is a tourism object which is located in Sungai Tengar village, Kendawangan; it is about 80 kilometer from Ketapang. To acsess this object is easy. We can go by bike, car, or bus to Sungai Tengar. From Sungai Tengar, we continue our trip by water transportation such as klotok (a kind of traditional boat) along the beach of Sungai Tengar. After an hour, we will arive in Pulau Sawi.

Bukit Baka

Bukit Baka-Bukit Raya National Park is a conserving area which is located in the heart of Kalimantan. This park is very beneficial in hidrologic; that is as a catchment area of the Melawi river in West Kalimantan and Katingan river in central Kalimantan. Bukit Baka-Bukit Raya National Park is formed of two park: Bukit Baka in West Kalimantan and Bukit Raya in Central Kalimantan.

Niut Mount an old volcanic mountain situated close to the Sarawak. This place is the border between Indonesia and Malaysia in West Kalimantan. This region can be achieved through Sanggau Ledo. The main vegetation type is forest below the mountains, and on the slopes of the lower likelihood Dipterocarpacea forests and forest. Nevertheless there are still some parts that are covered by the lowland forest, where the area is divided into two parts by a forest clearing paths from east to west. Approximately 60% of the area is covered by lowland forest, montane forest above 10% and the remainder by secondary vegetation and shifting cultivation areas. Most of this area is allocated to conservation areas and water catchment areas (70%) the rest is used for shifting cultivation activities.

Kabung Island

I came to tell the best beach in West Kalimantan. Place this one is very pity to miss, if you're traveling in Sambas, Leaders. It is no exaggeration to Coast Selimpai an exotic beach that was once owned by the northern region of West Kalimantan. The shape of this beach is very unique and the Cape, the land that jutted into the sea. In addition, this beach has a type of vegetation and fauna are rarely found on other beaches in West Kalimantan.

Betung Kerihun National Park

Betung kerihun is located in Putussibau, Kapuas Hulu, West kalimantan. It is located in Betung Mount and Kerihun Mount which are also the border line of Indonesia’s and malaysia’s Region. On September 1995, betung kerihun was determined to  national park by the Ministry of Forestry. Betung Kerihun National Park Covers up to 800,000 hectares area.

In Betung Kerihun National Park, there are more than 48 types of mamals including 7 types of primates; 301 types of birds which consist of 151 genus and 36 family, 15 types of migrated birds, and 24 types of Kalimantan endemic birds; 51 types of amfibia, 52 types of reptilia, 170 types of insecta and 112 types of fish.

Merasap and Berawan Waterfall

There are lots of Tourist Objects in Bengkayang which offers many colorful experiences, fresh air, and new environment to visitors. I have two name of waterfall in Bengkayang. Lets check it out….

The first one is Merasap Waterfall. Waterfalls cascade Merasap is located in the Hamlet Segonde village Pisak Tujuh Belas District with a height of ± 20 M, with distance 62 Km from the city Bengkayang, supreme object of this area is a waterfall, a variety of flora and fauna and a few other supporting facilities such as Mother Mary Statue . Waterfalls cascade Merasap can be visited with the two-wheeled vehicles and four wheel.

Second one is Berawan Waterfall. Altitude this waterfall M 75, located in the District area, to climb from the waterfall capital of Bengkayang can use two-wheel and four-wheel ± 75 KM, from the District the area continued with the walk. Supreme object of this area is a waterfall, a variety of flora and fauna.

Entugun Waterfall

Sekadau District also has a potential tourist attraction that is very interesting. One of them is Entugun Waterfll. Entugun Waterfall is located in the hamlet village of Copper Sub Kepayang Mahap Nanga Sekadau District, waterfall area bordering Ketapang has three levels. Each level there are approximately 30 meters. The water was swift and winding stone forge mutually lay between one another. Pancur Aji Water fall

          Need a holiday ??? Need an interesting place ??? We have one for you. Still in Sanggau, it has beautiful scenery. We’re calling it Wisata Alam Pancur Aji.

         Pancur Aji is located in Sanggau, in the middle of West Kalimantan. It is 12.857 km or 12,47 from all of West Kalimantan. It takes 30 minutes with motorcycle or car. In the way to the Waterfall Pancur Aji we are through the winding roads and mountainous recreational areas besides waterfall Pancur Aji. There is existing zoo in  Sanggau region such as crocodiles, the forest, birds, heron, snakes, deer and other.

Before entering the waterfall area we pass through the gate and pay for tickets with 2 wheel vehicle or motorcycle Rp.9000 and car 20,000. Our next road is parking which cost 1000,and take about 5 minutes to waterfall.

Sentarum Lake

           Well, that place is about Sentarum Lake. The Sentarum Lake National Park in Kapuas Hulu, West Kalimantan Province, need to be included in the agenda for your recreation. In Sentarum Lake National Park located in the eastern district of West Kalimantan Province, there are a variety of unique attractions, exciting, and challenging, such as jungle tours, educational tours, lake tours, village tours, cultural tours, and so forth.

            Sentarum Lake is 700 km from Pontianak city are included in the plain area of the Kapuas River Basin area of Kapuas Hulu regency, which is a shallow lake and marsh and low terraces are very broad.Sentarum Lake is a regional retention / overflow flood (retarding basin) from the Kapuas River is the catchment area as well as the regulator of the water system for the Kapuas River Basin. Thus, the areas located downstream of the Kapuas River is highly dependent on fluctuations in the amount of water collected in the lake.

Dara Juanti Sintang

Well friend, in this article, we are going to talk about Sintang city, expecially a palace in Sintang. Sintang District is a former royal palace with a legacy that is still intact. As one of the historical heritage in the City Sintang, Al Mukarramah Palace which is now as Dara Juanti museum, save a lot of stories. This palace is situated in city senter. It save a lot of evidence Sintang track record of past civilizations.

Well, about the Dara Juanti museum, I will describe it for you. The Oriental Singkawang

Singkawang is the second biggest city in West Kalimantan after Pontianak. It is 120 km to the north of Pontianak. Old buildings which already built since Kolonialism Era gives special nuance to this city, beside the  city’s peaceful live. Moreover, Singkawang is very unique of the majority of its people is chinese race. You can see many amoy (chiness young lady) walk in every sides of the city. This uniqueness makes it known as “The City of Amoy”.

Singkawang is such the china town of West Kalimantan. The nuance of chinese culture dominates most parts of the city, very oriental. We can find hundreds of klenteng or small temple – which also locally known as pekong – in each city’s corner. That is why people also usually call this city as “A Thousand Klenteng City”.

The oriental atmosphere of this city will be seen much more clearly in Chinese New Year Celebration or we usually calls as imlek. The celebration of imlek in this city is very glorious, and it will end in cap go me. Cap go meh itself is in fifteenth day of the first month in chinese date. On that day, all of the people will crowd every side of the town and streets to see parade of barongsai and dragons which is shown for free.

Singkawang is not only spread its oriental atmosphere only in the moment of imlek. In every day, we also can see the oriental nuance too. One of the ways is by visiting Hongkong Market. Yes, Hongkong Market. Eventhough its name is Hongkong Market, it is still in Singkawang. Officially, this market is named Beringin Market. This market, which in day is selling daily needs product, will turn to a market full of various kinds of chinese food at night. This ‘night’ market then is commonly known as Hongkong market. It is a very unique place,isn’t it?

Muliakarta Palace

Muliakarta Palace is the Palace of the Sultanate of Tanjungpura. This is the oldest sultanate located in West Kalimantan Province. In addition, this palace is also known as the Palace of Panembahan Gusti Muhammad Saunan. This place is one object of cultural tourism in Ketapang. In ancient times, this palace was a royal palace. Tikalong Waterfall

Hi friends, have you ever heard of a tourist place called "Rindu Alam"? This place is certainly not foreign to your ears. Rindu Alam became one of the most interesting sights in Singkawang. Rindu Alam is located not far from the coast of Pasir Panjang, about 18 km.

Kelam Hill

Simping, the Smallest Island in The World

West kalimantan is aregion with amazing tourism object. From the well-known one, Tugu Khatulistiwa (Equator Monument), and the famous Kapuas River, to the wonderful scenery of its beaches. These all are not including the richness of the culture it has yet.

One of the tourism objects in west kalimantan which is very special and unique is Simping island.

Kura-Kura Beach

         Well,, we are going to introduce to you one of the recreation place for you to spend your holiday. We think you should try to go there. If you are bored with your activities, it is one of the places that can refresh your mind. It is Kura-Kura Beach.

        When noticing the name of this beach, you may think that it is full of turtle. Maybe you think that you can find turtle around the beach. Anyway, when we went to the this beach on Monday ( 21/2), we found no turtle there. So we suggest you to change your primary purpose if your want to come to the beach just to look for the turtles.

        If you want to know more about this place, we will give you information. Kura-Kura Beach is located in Singkawang. It just takes about 3 hours to reach the beach. From Pontianak to Tanjung Gundul, we will travel for about 110 km. It seems that the beach is less of touch of decoration, but that is the thing which make the beach doesn’t lose the feel of its natural atmosphere. It is very beautiful beach. The water is clean so you can take a bath there. There so many stones there. If you feel hungry, there are many canteens too. They sell kind of foods and drink. However, if you maybe want to spend days and night at the beach, you still need to bring your sleeping bag because there is no inn near the beach. No need to worry about the security. The security is okay here. Kura-Kura Beach is secure enough as one of the camping destination, because ESA has tour that is called EOT and they choose this beach as the destination.
